Kersey Creek Elementary School Reviews

My child went to Kersey Creek for 3rd and 4th grade. The experience for me and my child was horrible! There was a serious lack of communication from teacher to parent. ALL the concerns and expectections that I had for the teachers as well as the principal was ignored. It was like pulling teeth to get them to understand my concerns I had. My child is very loving and everyone gets along with him, but the last year at KCES he clearly stated that he do not want to go back. Because of this I transfered my child to another school. I can say this though, there curriculum was great. It really set my child ahead in his future.

Excellent principle and teachers - they get to know your child and helps to maximize their experience. Facilities are amazing.

Great teachers and staff, brand new facility.

Although large in size, the school is designed beautifully so that it's logically and easily navigated by even the youngest children. The amount of parental involvement is phenomenal. The principal responds quickly to issues and truly has the children's best interest in mind.

I really think this is definitely one of the best elementary schools in Hanover County. They have really come through for extra help for my son when it was really needed. I feel the quality of academic programs they have available are very good. The availability of music, art, sports, and other extracurricular activities are also very good. There is a great level of parent envolvement that is greatly encouraged. There is alot of parents who are really taking an envolvement in their childs learning, the ones who can. Some may have small children or the parents are working and unable to get envolved as much if really at all, but for the most part I think there is a great participation. This is a school where a parent can know their child is learning and getting the academic attention that he/she deserves.

My daughter started this year in the fourth grade, she transferred from Pearson's Corner and really seems to like the change. We went to open house at the beginning of the year and her teacher was very nice and informative about everything. Our daughter has special learning needs and Kersey Creek has all the things that she needs to excel in her education. Also, I am a parent that has been absent from my childs life and the school system in mechanicsville has been very helpful with making sure that I stayed active in my daughters education and for that I am greatful. I hope that the school system will continue to help others as it has done for me.
