Very Friendly atmosphere, beautifully decorated with a classy decor, Has lively soft music playing African (usually jazz) most days. Located in heart of Richmond historical district , near two major universities. Prices are reasonably moderate. Portion sizes quite adequate. You will feel like family as soon as you walk in to the door , the owners and staff will make you feel so good , Believe this you will be return…….I have …… Save me Some of the Bread Pudding…Please!

Pros: The Corn Bread is the best......MMMMMMMMM.......Good

Cons: I live in Mississippi and the Restaurant is in Virginia.....

This small restaurant serves up some great food. I have only been disappointed once when I asked to add some spice to my fish. I was given a peppery paste (i figured it would be really hot) that I stuck my fork in and lightly rubbed over my fish. Can u say 4 alarm blaze???!!! I'm not sure what kind of peppers they were ..maybe scotch bonnets (definitely hotter than jalepenos). It was so bad I couldn't eat the rest of my food. But that was my fault for asking for some spice. Other than that ..the food was great. They have a good day variety on the buffet with vegetables, curry/jerk chicken, plaintains, corn bread, ox tails....all yummy. I don't like the fact that you pay by weight of the food...but that does help your eyes from getting bigger than your stomach and your pocket.

Pros: ummmm its basically all good

Cons: pay by weight

My family and I really enjoy this eatery. There are usually different offerings each day, but she does serve the staples such as rice, fried plantains, and cornbread. My favorite is the spinach and the hot ginger tea. My husband raves about her watermelon tea! Everything is good there basically. Her prices has increased several dollars per pound in the last couple of years though.
