So I'm kinda new to Richmond and I love ghost stories so I figured a ghost tour would be a great way to learn about Richmond....NOT if you go on Haunts of Richmond's tours. Pub Crawls maybe because then at least I'd be drinking. First off, you don't know how or where to buy tickets...they are not professional at all! Then when you get there you expect at least someone interesting to be giving the tour...NOT with Haunts. Just a dumpy, weird tour guide who had a REALLY annoying voice...I mean COME ON! Then the tour is way too short for what they want you to pay and the stories put you to BED!!!! Anyways, I later was told to go on the Eerie Nights tour by a friend...and let me just say EERIE NIGHTS PUTS HAUNTS TO SHAME. They were in costume, with cool makeup and they're stories were actually SCARY. Unlike Haunts. Spend the money on Eerie Nights. Thanks for the advice James, you were right...and to think I almost gave up on Ghost Tours.
Pros: was outside
Cons: the guides!!!

So I read some reviews and despite everything I thought I'd give Haunts of Richmond a chance. Boy was that stupid of me! The tour guides are dry as toast, there is nothing fun about the tour, and you only see a few sites for way too much money. I was hoping for something entertaining and interactive, but sadly all I got was a waste of money and time. It's overly advertised for what you get and it's time for someone else to give Good ghost tours in this city. Please help us from Haunts of Richmond. Until that happens I'm going else where for my tours!!!
Pros: n/a
Cons: the tour

I have taken this tour several times over the past few years. These guides have been around for a while and know a ton about Richmond's history. The cool thing is that they not only get the history right, but the stories they tell are really believable. The have details that just sell the stories. They aren't cheesy, trying to distract you with actors or anything, just good stories about cool places in Richmond. And they've been around long enough to swap out stories so you can go back and you'll get new stories. Totally a great thing to do!
Pros: They get the history right, stories sound true
