I have always had a problem being called a black artist. Yes, I am a black man who is an artist. No, my work is not just black art or for black people. I have always enjoyed doing things that I considered to be pleasing to the eye and have a strong sense of detail, coupled with my vast imagination. Born the middle child of five children, I was told often what I could do and what I could not do.  I decided to create my own place in this world and be what I wanted to be. I belong to a very large extended family that has helped to support me in my desires and ambitions. I would like to give praise to all of my family and friends who have supported me and thank them for all of their prayers and thoughts. I was strongly influenced Norman Rockwell, Leonardo Davinci, Raphael and Donatello. I continue my pursuit my love for art and mastering my craft. I attended Virginia Commonwealth University for four years. I traveled around the country studying and working on my skills. My education was cut short by my desire to help take care of my ailing mother. As a result of her Diabetes she later died. My work is dedicated to her lasting memory.
