I am a ceramic artist; a potter and I also paint.  I am drawn to the human figure and faces, so I make these busts with nothing-in mind but what the clay itself becomes under my hands.  I see the faces emerge and they seem like personalities with different moods. 

I also love monkeys because monkeys teach me to not take things so serious and work all the time but rather have some fun.   Making clay monkeys makes me laugh and my patrons laugh too.

My studio is at Art Works – Studios and Galleries in Old Manchester, Richmond, Virginia.  As co-owner I am blessed with meeting and enjoying the most wonderful people who are artists, those who love art and those who are curious and want to learn about art. 

The children’s art program at Art Works, gives me a lot of pleasure.  CAN (Children’s Art in the Neighborhood), meets the 1^st and 2^nd Saturday of each month and the kids have a new project each month – free and fun.
